What is SP Summer IRL?

Picture this: after hitting a workout at your local park, there's a tasty potluck BBQ with kids running around and a serious game of cornhole going down. And you finally got to hug and high five the people who've been cheering you on through your screen. That's SP Summer IRL.

From June 27th through Labor Day, we're encouraging SP members everywhere to host and join local meetups where you can meet your online friends face-to-face. Because there's NOTHING more powerful than feeling like you're not alone—and that feeling hits different when you're sweating side-by-side with your people.

Real Connection in a Digital World: In a world that can feel disconnected by screens, there's something refreshingly simple about sweating together and sharing snacks afterward. Fitness brings people together—just humans supporting humans in getting stronger.

Accountability That Actually Works: The accountability that drives your daily workouts becomes even more powerful when you can look someone in the eye and celebrate their progress. Plus, it's way harder to skip when Sarah from down the street is counting on you to bring the bluetooth speaker.

Ready to Make This Summer Unforgettable?

Despite how we almost talked ourselves down - we showed up! For ourselves. For each other. We all agree we wouldn’t have put up as much effort on our own – we needed each other – and surprised ourselves with our effort! So proud of these CC Street Parkers.” - Shannon H

SP IRL isn't about perfect workouts or impressive performances—it's about showing up, connecting with your community, and celebrating the shared journey of health and fitness in real life. Whether you're hosting your first meetup or attending your tenth, you're contributing to something bigger than yourself.

Your SP family is waiting to meet you.

FAQs

If I already planned and/or started promoting a meetup during this time, do I still have to fill out the registration form?

Yes! We want to make sure that you get all the goodies, support, and of course, a chance for prizes! Fill out the form HERE.

What if I have a meetup scheduled for before June 27th, can I still fill out the registration form?

Go for it! We’ll do our best to get you all of the IRL info and goodies.

Can I host more than one SP IRL Meetup before September 1st?

Yes! Consistency is key for building more than just great fitness habits.

Is my event confirmed once I submit the registration form?

Yes! The registration form is for committed hosts who are ready to move forward with their event. We'll send you confirmation and resources within 48 hours, but your event is officially registered once you submit the form. If you're still deciding or have concerns about logistics, please email meetups@streetparking.com before registering.

What if I need to change my event details after registering?

No problem! Life happens. Contact meetups@streetparking.com and we'll help you update your event details, change the location, or adjust the date if needed. We'd rather help you make it work than have you cancel!

What if I register to host but my space is limited?

Great question! Here are two approaches we recommend:

  1. Consider a nearby park or open space - If you're concerned about capacity, hosting at a local park, school field, or community space often works better for larger groups and gives you more flexibility.
  2. Promote with RSVPs and space limits - If you want to use your garage/home space, promote your event and ask for RSVPs since space is limited. Remember: You can always use both your garage/driveway AND nearby outdoor space to accommodate everyone who wants to join!

How do I manage attendance for my meetup?

We recommend promoting your event and asking for RSVPs, especially if you have space limitations. You can set expectations in your event description (like "garage gym space, 8-10 people max") and encourage early RSVPs. If demand exceeds your space, we can help you find solutions.

What if more people want to attend than I can accommodate?

This is a good problem to have! Options include:

  • Moving to a nearby park or larger space
  • Setting a clear RSVP limit and encouraging people to host their own nearby meetup
  • Reaching out to meetups@streetparking.com for help finding solutions

We're here to help make it work, not stress you out!
